Supervisory Management (Special Purpose Award, Level 6)

Aims

The Certificate in Supervisory Management programme is aimed at those in junior management positions in manufacturing or service industries.

It provides learners with key skills in the following:

  • Planning
  • Organising
  • Control and Leadership

Applied assessment allows the learner to apply the theoretical aspects of the programme to their own work environment and develop their management skills in their own work setting. It also examines the key skills of conflict resolution, developing emotional intelligence and delegation.

Content

Modules:

  • Management concepts: Core concepts of planning and control.
  • Conflict Resolution: Learners learn how to deal with conflict.
  • Leadership: Applied leadership in an organisational setting.
  • Organisational Behaviour: Learners examine how organisations work and achieve outputs.

Entry Requirement

QQI Level 5 award, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification, and/or relevant life and work experience. Mature students (23 years of age on 1st January preceding application) can apply.

Programme Delivery Mode

This programme is delivered with a mixture of online and classroom delivery. Some of the content will be delivered online with the remaining involving either lectures/practicals/tutorials delivered at the LIT Moylish Campus, Limerick or LIT Clonmel Campus, Tipperary.

Qualification

Certificate in Supervisory Management, Special Purpose Award, Level 6, 20 Credits.
