CNC Machining of Materials (City & Guilds)
At the end of this module the learner will:
• be able to produce CNC part-programs
• be able to set-up CNC machine tools
• be able to produce parts using CNC machine tools
• be able to reinstate the work area
It includes part- programming, preparation of the machine, selection and the preparing of the required methods of workholding, the selection and the correct mounting of tooling. It also covers the operations required and safe working practices to complete the machining operations.
On this CNC Programming course we will use the FANUC 21i Controller for ISO G-Code programming on two-axis lathe. This programming course is mainly focused towards writing the ISO G-code for turning components with parallel, tapered, threaded and bored out features. There is a practical exercise at the end of the programme for examination purposes. Some machining and demonstrations will take place on a Fanuc 21iM (G-code) milling machine.
