CNC Machining of Materials (City & Guilds)
At the end of this module the learner will:
• be able to produce CNC part-programs using simulation software
• be able to set-up CNC machine tools
• be able to produce parts using CNC machine tools
• be able to reinstate the work area
This course is primarily focused on the programming of CNC machines. Students will programme using ISO G-Codes for milling and turning and a basic introduction to Siemens conversational Milling programming. Preparation of the machine, Selection and the preparing of the required methods of work holding, Selection and the correct mounting of tooling, Calculation of Speeds and Feeds are key components of this course.
Programming of CNC milling machines and CNC lathes forms part of this programme. A small number of parts will be produced during the course of this programme. It also covers the operations required and safe working practices to complete the machining operations.
